The Shard from the Sky Garden, 20 Fenchurch Street, on a February afternoon. The clouds were already moving in when this was taken — dramatic and low, pressing down on the city below. The Shard dominates the left side of the frame, rising through the cloud layer. Across the Thames, the city stretches out in every direction. London as a landscape, stripped of colour until only the structure of the place remains.
