Comments

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Cookies

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Analytics and shop improvement
With your permission, we use optional analytics to understand how visitors find Othervariant, which pages and products are useful, and where the shopping journey becomes difficult. You can allow or decline analytics when the choice panel appears, and change your choice later through the “Analytics settings” link in the website footer.
Your analytics choice is stored in a necessary cookie named ov_analytics_consent for up to 180 days. It contains only whether analytics were granted or denied.
If analytics are allowed, Google Analytics and our WooCommerce integration may receive information such as the page visited, landing page, referrer, campaign tags, approximate location, device and browser information, and shop events including product views, basket activity, checkout progress and completed purchases. Purchase events can contain product identifiers, prices, currency and an order transaction identifier. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, postal addresses, payment details or checkout-field contents to analytics.
We also use Independent Analytics, hosted within this WordPress website, to measure page visits, referrers and campaign information after consent. Microsoft Clarity may be enabled after consent to help us understand scrolling, clicks and usability problems through heatmaps and session recordings. Checkout input fields are not used as analytics event parameters, and sensitive form inputs are masked.
Analytics information is processed according to the settings and retention controls of the relevant services. You can read more in the Google Privacy Policy and the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Embedded content from other websites

How long we retain your data

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
